"When the pandemic hit, we quickly realized that educators, families, and the community were not as well-connected as we had thought, and this created an immediate need for CrowdCoursing.

CrowdCoursing is a volunteer management platform that has simplified community engagement for all stakeholders. Volunteers - including parents, family friends, college students, and other local public school supporters - can easily search for opportunities that align to their skills and interests.

As a Doctor of Education with over 20 years experience, I know the impact of volunteers on student success can be profound. Increased individualized engagement with students can lead to higher literacy rates, improved mental health, increased fundraising for academic projects, and a connection to greater post-school outcomes. CrowdCoursing helps to make this possible through user-friendly software accessible through school districts."

As a second grade classroom teacher, I find CrowdCoursing to be an easy-to-use method of sharing information with my students’ families and community members to facilitate more opportunities for engagement in a variety of classroom activities. I was able to establish an after school computer club for 2nd through 4th graders, request voluntary donations for snacks, communicate about specific dates and times for our meetings, and ask family members to participate in the club activities. The steps to create a user account and organize a room to house all of the information about the computer club were simple. Within minutes, I was connecting with students’ parents and engaging them on a platform they had not used previously. And the students were able to receive small group instruction to increase their computer literacy, which is a huge win!

“The volunteers in my classroom have helped out significantly! Volunteers are using a fluency and comprehension tool to help build students up, by working with them individually. The students are excited to work with the volunteers and always shout "yay", when they arrive.  The students are reading timed stories and answering comprehension questions.  The students have made great gains, as the volunteer graphs their progress with the student and reviews it each time they meet.  The stories get progressively harder, so it is easy to see the progress students are making with the volunteers.  Several have gone up in grade level from doing this with volunteers.  I do not have the time to meet with all students individually, so this is a game changer for the students."

"I had the opportunity to have several volunteers in the Fall and it was an amazing experience. Especially for my students. I usually have volunteers work one-on-one my students. By the end, my students just appreciate the volunteers so much and the volunteers know all of my students.”

"As an educator, I have a need for volunteers and see the benefits they provide to me as well as the students. As a new teacher to the district I am very thankful that volunteers are easily accessible.  In the past, I've had to seek volunteers and it is very challenging. All the volunteers are enthusiastic and have my students excited about reading to them.”
